Your Referring Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (RDVM) will refer your pet to West Coast Veterinary Dental Services to perform specialized care for your pet. There are many reasons a veterinarian may suggest an appointment with a dental specialist. An oral or dental concern may have been noted during a routine visit to your veterinarian, or you have observed changes in your pet’s behaviour or eating habits that causes you concern. Rest assured your veterinarian will offer the best possible care for your pet. West Coast Veterinary Dental Services compliments your veterinarian’s practice.
If you would like to have a patient seen by our team, please email a completed form. Please note the required medical documents on our referral form – we will not proceed with a booking until all required medical documents have been received.
Once a referral has been submitted, our team of Registered Veterinarian Technicians will review the completed medical records. After the referral and records have been reviewed, a staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment with us. Typically, we offer clients to schedule an initial consult along with the procedure on the same day.
Our doctors will prepare a referral report that will be emailed to your regular veterinarian. If you have any further questions about our referral process, please feel free to contact us.
Our board-certified specialists, or current resident, will review your dental radiographs. Upon completion you will receive a written report along with an invoice, billed to your clinic. Please allow for up to one week for a review to be completed.
To submit a radiograph review, please email a completed referral form along with the radiographs required for review. Please note that we ask for JPEG versions of the radiographs taken. If you would like more details, please contact us directly.
